The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani was established in the year 1964, and it is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), and it is accredited with an ‘A’ Grade by NAAC. It is an all-India Institute for higher education in Engineering. The main motive of Birla Institute of Technology and Science is to train young and talented students who are eager to create and put into action their ideas, methods, techniques, and information. BITS is integrated in generating, distributing, and preserving knowledge, and working together with others to bring this knowledge to face the world's large challenges.

Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani Infrastructure

The main building of the campus includes centrally air-conditioned classrooms, laboratories, administrative offices, and lecture theatres. The Campus also provides separate hostels for boys and girls as well as residences for staff are provided, along with medical, banking, and market facilities. The Campus is completely residential and housing is provided to all students. There are two hostels for girls and six hostels for boys. The Campus also provides sports facilities; they provide indoor as well as outdoor sports facilities, they also have a cricket ground and also provide other recreational facilities like Painting, Photography, Music club, Dance club, and Dramatics, etc. in their activity center.

The library in the institute is spread over 45,000 sq. ft and two floors with a seating capacity of more than 400 people and has a huge collection of more than 20000 books. The institute also has a medical center that provides medical facilities for students as well as faculty around-the-clock. The medical center at the campus consists of two male doctors, a sister, and a compounder cum lab-technician, for consultation. Along with that, it also has an ECG machine and amenities to check blood sugar. Thus, there are various facilities provided by the Campus to their students and some of them are as follows:

BITS, Pilani campus programs two placement drives a year, students of this institute work in the industry for one of the two semesters in their last year as a part of the Practice School program.

The faculty helps students to develop their potential in every area of their interest. Soft skill development is also nurtured and considered a part of classroom practice through presentation and open-ended learning components.
