Late Dr. M. S. Ramaiah established the M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) in the year; at that time, he was the most renowned philanthropist, visionary, and pioneer in creating various milestone infrastructure assignments in the nation. Over the years, MSRIT has grown with noteworthy contributions from diverse professionals in different capacities, which was led by Dr. M. S. Ramaiah himself, whose personal dedication has seen the institution through its prominent years. In the year 1997, MSRIT started the Department of Telecommunication Engineering affiliated with Bangalore University to impart modern technologies in the field of Telecommunication Engineering.

Visvesvaraya Technological University granted independent status to M. S. Eligibility criteria to get direct admission in MSRIT 2024

The minimum eligibility criteria for getting admission to M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology are as follows:

• Entrance Exam: KEA / COMEDK
• Candidates should have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as main subjects along with Biotechnology/Biology/Chemistry/Computer Science/Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination to pursue an undergraduate degree in Engineering at MSRIT.
• For the General Category students, the eligibility for admission is 45%, and for SC/ST a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination.
• If the mark obtained in Chemistry is less than the required aggregate percentage for determination of eligibility, marks obtained by the candidate in Electronics/Computer Science/Biotechnology/Biology in the qualifying examination will be considered instead of Chemistry.

HOSTEL: The hostel has well-appointed rooms for single/double/triple residences with attached bathrooms with hot water. The hostel consists of large halls which are well-equipped with LED TVs, newspapers, and magazines. Breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner are provided by the hostel on the campus which comprises both North Indian as well as South Indian food. The Campus provides indoor and outdoor sports facilities too. Few heavy-duty washing machines in the old block provide free laundry services. The service of ironing clothes is also provided at subsidized rates.

GYM: The College Gym is well equipped with multi-gym, aerobic equipment, along with a variety of free weights. The gym at the campus is perfect for burning fat, improving general fitness, building strength, or for particular sports training. The gym is maintained by the Department of Sports at the College. The gym is free for all members of the M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology.

NETWORK & INTERNET CENTER: The data center at the college is air-conditioned with sufficient power backup. Network and Internet Centers are very important to keep all the main servers located in a safe and secure place. MSRIT also has Internet Gateway located in the College. An Internet connection of 2150Mbps at 1:1 compression on a fiber handout is there in the institute, and a UTM device manages and regulates the Internet connection that contains an anti-spam and antivirus database.
